Default Slight ACE fluid leak! help!

Hi Guys
Im new to this forum thing so bare with me
I have a small ACE fluid leak under the driver side wheel arch and its making a hiss sound intermittently about every 30 seconds. The recevoir is low but no dash lights have come on. Is it ok to drive and keep topping up until i can afford to either fix the leak or remove the system all together?

Thanks

lhd or rhd?....could be actuator if one, pump/res. other. helps to put as much info as possible. is it leaking from a hose or reservoir or line to pump or what?
i had a slight hiss, too. I had that, until i flushed the fluid and cleaned the filter in the valve block.

Thanks for your reply i think its coming from just behind the wheel arch under drivers seat? so not sure whats there maybe the valve block? its dripping very slowly from the lowest point so its hard to pin point and about 1 drip every few mins just really need to know if its going to be ok to keep running and keeping an eye on levels and topping up if it drops a little?

Thanks again for your info

yes, keep it topped and keep an eye on it. it will self bleed minor amounts of air, but too much air in system is bad. i would put some leak detection dye in the fluid. it will make it easy to pinpoint the source of leak.

that location is the hard line location that heads back to the valve block. the valve block is frame mounted near the rear wheel, same side. if I had to guess (and it is a guess) I'd say your actuator had a leak at its rubber lines or connections and is pushing fluid onto those lines.

Do not remove it, it is a $1700 OPTION FROM THE FACTORY WHICH WHEN REMOVED WILL LOWER THE QUALITY OF THE OVER ALL RIDE.
MAKE SURE TO KEEP THE BOTTL FULL TILL THE REPAIR IS MADE. IF YOU DON'T HAVE THE MONEY RIGHT NOW, BY-PASS THE PUMP USING A NON ACE BELT AND PULL THE FUSE, THIS WILL STOP any leaks or more problems till you can fix it then make sure you flush the system every 15,000 to 20,000 miles to get the best performance from it.

Great thanks guys i will take it in the my local land rover dealer when i get back from the long journey and see about fixing rather than removing. theres just so much information some saying remove some saying not

i will try my best to find the leak tonight so i have a better idea of the extent

it might have been like it a while i don't know i have ordered a 5 litre bottle of ATF Dexron 2 and will keep checking and topping up as needed at least for now theres no warning lights and the drip looks minimal

Thanks again

Mine was leaking from the actuator so I bit the bullet and fitted a new one. They can be bought for under £45 in the UK if memory serves me right. Metal pipework can probably be repaired by a competent mechanic (using brake pipes).

Try degreasing the area (Gunk or similar) and then you may be able to see the drip's origin

Do not use ATF in the ACE, power steering fluid only.
