Slipped sleeve
I am pretty sure i have a lose sleeve in my rover, there is a rythmyc noise at idle that goes away under throttle. I have read the repairs about pinning the cylinders. In the NJ, NYC, Philly area does anyone know a shop that has done this before or recommendations on how to proceeds? unimog875 had a post about doing it at his Bosch shop on Long Island, I msged him to no luck.
Or, any idea on on how to confirm my suspicion is wrong?

you don't have to be overheating or a loss of coolant to have a slipped liner, that would only happen if you had a crack in the block behind the liner.
I don't think you will find anyone to pin liners for you because of liability issues. it not exactly an industry standard fix.

no over heating, I only drive about 8 miles each way. on long trips it runs hotter than I would like, but never sends the needle askew. I add some water wetter for arguments sake.
I changed the oil a couple months ago, about 1000 miles ago. My plan is to add some MMO before the next oil change, maybe do it early and see how it goes.

We suggest you look into what is causing the problem instead of throwing additives into the truck that will only prolong the initial damage. Post a video of the engine upon startup.
The engine had an extensive new head gasket done by the dealer about 25k miles ago.
If the tappets are sticky, MMO could clear them up.
Start up is quiet, engine is quiet. Once it heats up to operating temp it gets loud. Leads me to believe the block is heating up, allowing the sleeve to move around. I will record a video.

Ill try again to get audio. If the sound is gone its time to fix the amigos and driveshaft.
It isn't necessarily a slipped sleeve. I had a pretty big tick on mine which was caused by a broken oil pump gear and sketchy oil pressure as a result. I replaced the oil pump, timing chain, and all the lower seals and the engine is quiet now. Install the purolator L40316 oil filter, add Shell Rotella 15w40 oil, add an oil pressure gauge and see what you get. That'd be a wise first step and better than just tearing it down right away and trying to pin sleeves. If your oil pressure is at all not right, suspect a broken oil pump gear and replace it fast before you lose all pressure and wipe the whole engine.
