That is a first, I think. I have 4 years on my 99 bags and been on long stretches of surfaces worse then new road chips, what a bummer.
So what are you going to do, witch to coils or replace the pump and bags? By the way, that should be cover by your road hazard portion of you auto insurance.
I think I know where to find a good used pump and one of our sponsers, Arnott makes the greatest air bag replacements with life time warrantys.
Good luck,
Mike

A common problem here in Australia.

I live in the North East Kimberley's in Western Australia and some of the most remote off road routes are our backyard.

For those in the know, Gunbarrel Highway, Canning Stock Route, Gibb River Road, Tanami Track are just a few that pass through.

I recently travelled over 3000kms on gravel tracks and had no issues with my 04 TD5 S (SLS Airbag Model) except for one flate rhs rear tyre. (My fault - pushing it too much to make up time)

However I am friends with the local 'RAC - Roadside Assist Recovery Rescuer'. Only three days ago we had to rescue a family of five from the Tanami Track after they had travelled only 60kms to have the rhs airbag pop after being punctured from a rock/stone.

$787 Australian for one airbag! Not cheap.

Luckily his Land Rover Roadside assist paid for the recovery. The owner is up for the cost of the bag and labour though! Nice bill to add to the holiday expenses.

Talking to the Recovery Rescuer he quite often recovers vehicles fitted with airbags with the same problem. Must be some type of protection you can get to protect the airbag. I know the Disco comes standard with a mudflap that is designed to assist with protection of the airbag but the Discovery we recovered had these fitted yet still received the puncture.

Anyone know of such protection or just purchase stonger airbags ie; Arnotts

Hi guys

ya one bag gone and compressor knackered......but truth be told the compressor prob wasn't in the best of knick anyway!! Cheers for the help Mike but need my motor for work and I'm also away alot so I got it done up at my local LR specialist.....but it was about half the price of the nearest LR dealer so I reckon I got a handy deal!

Cheers All
Ed
