The ground attached to the nut itself is the fuel pump. Nice coat of liquid electrical tape on the SLABS ground terminal and a wire tie to hold it down... no more dead battery.

Thanks all!

Tried this after going through everything else. While it has stopped the "ticking" noises all night, it has created a worse problem. The SLS warning light comes on in the dash now and as soon as I go over 30 kmph, a warning beep starts and does not stop till I go back below 30.

Will have to find another way out.

Does it think you have off road mode selected? Or, if you re-connect the ground and the problem is solved, perhaps add a relay that is energized when truck cranked, making the ground connection, and breaking that connection when truck powered down.

your bcm still thinks you have SLS and not coils, I dont know why it would not reprogram. I have done serveral with my machine and have had no problems.

Yes. You are right. Took it back to my friendly
Mechanic and tried reprogramming it. Discovered it was not programming it correctly as I had removed the SLS fuse earlier. Once fuse was back in, earth connected, she took the coils setting happily.

Hello all,

I am having the same battery drain issues post SLS to spring conversion. I have removed the fuse/relay and will be having the dealer switch it to non-SLS next month....

Can someone tell me where the GROUNDING POST is that shares with the fuel pump? Is it under the hood? If so, can you point it out to me? Is it one of the three next to the fuse box and battery????

I have a 2003 Land Rover Discovery HSE

Thanks

KEN

Can anyone help me out? I have heard that the ground is under the hood somewhere, but I am not sure which one it is. Trying to see if this will reduce the battery draining.

Thanks
