It's under pressure, so unless the hose fits correctly, I'm not sure if RTV would hold it back.

Just broke mine yesterday. Have a replacement in the mail already, but I'm wondering if there's a reason this couldn't be replaced by a rubber hose?

yes you can other people have done it with no problems. Don't forget, there is another brittle hose that goes from the throttle body heater plate to the expansion tank replace that one too.

Is like to eventually do this also. I just haven't known what size rubber hose, or type, to get. I haven't put a lot of thought into it either, since I don't have any issues with it.

I replaced my plastic line going from the tank to the intake manifold (I bypassed the throttle heater) with 5/16's rubber fuel line. It works great, was a touch tight slipping on the ends. I am going to replace the radiator to tank line also, I would imagine the 5/16 line would work fine??

yeah the other guys that have done this mod used fuel line, take the old hose with you and match it up at a parts house. I would put new clamps on it as well make sure you don't over tighten them.

Great advice guys. Went out and bought 8 feet of fuel injector 5/16 hose. Slipped right on. I tightened the hose clamps pretty good on each side, but didn't try to kill the clamps either (fearing the breakage of the plastic radiator tube). Too soon to declare this a complete victory, but it's on its way.

Because the 5/16 fuel injector line is much fatter, I had to reroute the tube. I took it along the front of the radiator and sort of just draped it there. I'll do something to secure the ends so that there isn't any stress on the plastic extension on the radiator.

I figured when my time comes to change mine out, the hose routing was going to end up being different. My first thought was to take the hose coming straight out of the radiator, and run it up along the air intake, then turn and burn towards the over flow tank! Not sure if that will work yet..just an idea

That's a good route idea. I "finished" mine up yesterday with some zip ties. I tried to track the original route, with the exception of going in front of the radiator instead of under the plastic shroud cover. Along the top of the radiator, under the shroud cover, on the left and right side are the tracks where the old hose is laid to hold it in place. I used those as anchor points for the wire ties. I also used a wire tie just in front of the expansion tank, using the clip for the original line as an anchor point (since the fatter hose won't fit the clip).

So far so good. The replacement part came in the mail yesterday. If this setup ends up giving me problems, I'll probably just replace it with the replacement part, but I'm in no hurry to create work unless necessary.

The hose was only $20 at RoversNorth, so I think I'll just hold onto it. Not really worth $15 ($20 minus the shipping back) to screw around with a return.
