Default so glad I have my Discovery!

soooo glad I have my Disco!!!

roads are flooded, and continuing to do so. I went right through the water that was roughly half way up the doors of several cars, I could judge as they were stalled in the river, errr, road.

the road was closed, but, sitting in the detour traffic wasn't an option for me.

there is grassy knoll on the other side of the curbing, to get around the Honda Civic, I had to put a couple of my wheels up over the curb and onto that grassy knoll...

wish I had video... 2 wheels in the mud, and 2 in the road/river...

I call it suburban four wheeling

I have gotten out of a few hairy situations that have been similar. I pulled a few people out of stalled cars with a hood to hood transfer. Even got a cop off his patrol unit that was sliding away. I love these trucks.

Makes me damn proud to own one!

There are many capable 4x4 vehicles out there, but:

I love stories like that!
Even if you never use the truck off road, its nice to know that it can get you out of a bad situation
Of course, I STRONGLY recommend using it off road as much as possible!

Me too....I drove through a 6" flood following a Toyota Tundra, we both passed a parked Cop in the flood yapping on a cell phone...I then got immediately pulled over by that same Cop who had a temper trantrum my 5 year old would have been proud of that I took such a risk driving over water yada yada yada. I pointed out that he was sitting in his cruiser on his cell phone NOT directing traffic and that if the road was closed he should have used Cones and/or flairs to actually close the road and direct the traffic, my powers of clairvoyance being somewhat low and that after all I was in a Land Rover...not a Prius and that the car in front of me had been fine. True..it WAS raining rather hard and he was VERY upset with me for making him get out of that nice warm cruiser for his most instructional lecture. No ticket at least, my English accent went oh so well with the Disco I was driving but I'm left wondering where these morons get their training?...maybe T-Mobile or AT&T traffic school?

you may have to turn your laptops on end... I had no idea you couldn't change the orientation on a cell phone video...
