So I rolled my Disco...
... More of a tip over, really. Not much damage, definitely no structural damage, just some sheet metal damage on the passenger side, a baseball size dent in the top rear, and a dent the size of my forearm between the a pillar and b pillar. anyway, the adjuster wants to total it just the same. My question to you all is this:
How much would you estimate the vehicle is worth to a salvage yard parting it out.
I'm trying to negotiate with the adjuster, and while his offer was fair, I need to look out for #1. He's suppose to call back tomorrow with a counteroffer and I just wanted more ammo for the # I gave him.
Thanks, Oh, and yes, I am still in mourning

well not as much to a salvage yard as to you parting it out by mentioning it here ont he forum. if the engine is out of the bad oil pump vins thats a nice piece of the pie right there. your transmission, your transfer case are all worth some dough. I would say if you tried selling the parts you could get 4 grand easy. hell im ready to buy driver seat what color is it? you have cupholders? how about front door speakers? ... lol
If I only had the time, I would buy it back from insurance and part it out. But I'm on that law school schedule and I don't even have time to say hello to my wife. ( I think she's secretly happy that she doesn't have to compete with the Disco anymore! )
Sorry to hear that man but at least your ok.Not to woory theres plenty of nice used discos out there. If you can I'd like to know what they end up giving you for it.Just in case I have an "accident" with mine.
that's about 2 grand more than I thought you'd get - good for ya!
personally, I'd buy a $4k DI in good shape - stick 5k in the bank, buy a $950 ring for your wife - and you're good for the rest of the year
luck,greg

WOW - I was going to $7k tops - good work... Now buy a '98 D1 for a couple grand and spend the rest making it what your D2 wasn't...
I am glad to see you were ok, sorry for your baby, but "All's well that ends well".
