Been meaning to do this mod for a while now, did the same thing to my Wife's 93' Volvo and couldnt be happier. Super easy to do, just gotta tear into the center console and remove the lighter -- then wire up the USB port and thats about it. The cig lighter wires already had spade connectors on them, just had to remove them from the housing they were in and plug them into the back to the USB plug. Had to do a tiny bit of sanding around the opening to make the USB plug fit -- no biggie.

I've modified all 3 of my D2's with em vs cigarette lighters. I used one like yours except with green illumination and then the other two were from a side by side and were water proof.

Yeah, this one is a marine one which had a water proof cover dealio on it but.. I took it off and threw it away haha
