Default Spare tire size

I am getting ready to order 265/70/18 nitto ridge grappler tires for my disco. I was going to order 5 with one for the spare. But will it fit on the back of my disco. Was wondering if anyone knew if its to big. Thanks for the help. Joe

You'll have to flip and notch the carrier at least. My 275/70R18 doesn't fit with the carrier flipped though.

There’s a video
show the spare tire just fitting. I think he has 265/60R18. You can see it at minute 5:10

Confirmed, I flipped the carrier for 265/65r18s. The tire rubs but fits with 285/75r16s, too.

I am pretty sure this tire diameter is 32.6. So what is this flip of the mount and how do you do it. Is it stong enough when flipped to keep everything together on the back door when done without ripping off. I do no offroading by the way.

I also understand there is a bracket sold that attaches to the spare carrier to lift the spare tire. Is that true and where would you get it.

It's plenty strong. Mine's been flipped for I think 3 years.
