Then can I be the first to say you have the right truck? It's weird for sure because they "try" to make these trucks servicable out in the field. I think there's a post about changing the wires without removing the intake manifold somewhere around here. I was quoted a price of about $700 for a set of 8mm Magnecor's, 8 plugs (+4's), a new gasket and labor. I have SAI so it's a little longer time wise than one without SAI.

You shouldnt ever need to replace plug wires in the field though. You can still remove the plugs if you hydro lock, you can replace the brake pads without removing the caliper, you can remove the axles, diffs, driveshafts, etc., all this in the field, DI or DII, P38, Defender, RRC, Series...
