Default Spark Plug and Wires Question

I'm getting ready to do the 60K service...I was getting the parts together. I was looking at Disco Mike's 60k list and saw "1 Set of Magnacor 8mm plug wires". I was looking on The Atlantic British Website (Buying a transmission Filter kit) and saw they only sold the 7mm plug wires for the Disco II......or maybe I overlooked them. Which size do I need?

Disco Mike posted this in one of my posts.

And, the 8 mm will with stand more heat, thus lasting longer. For the few extra dollars, call Tony and order the 8 mm wires, 650-365-4145.
As for the brakes, do your brakes squeak, is so that is your problem, they need to be replace with quiter pads so the speed sensor doesn't pick up on the harmonic vibration. Do this soon before your 3 Amigos comes on and stays on then it will cost you an extra $100 or so to have the codes read and cleared.

Mike, I was going to follow a post from a while back. I printed it out and have it sitting at work. Whoever did it, took lots of pictures and was really detailed. I don't believe he removed the manifold, so that's the route I was planning on taking....does that mean I should go with the 7mm?

I find it very hard to believe that 1mm makes any difference.
You will be fine with the 7mm wires if that is what you choose. The 8mm wires will fit just fine if you were wondering.

Nearly all the Rover forums recommend the 8 mm Magnacor wires for the extra protection from heat and their longer life.
If you don't want to spend the few dollars difference, Spike, that is your call, but it is well worth the difference that many of us believe is necessary.
Just checked with Atlantic British, they sell the 7 mm wires for $129.95, why not pay around $115 for the 8mm wires from Tony?????

New 2003 Discovery owner.
I am having a problem with the vehicle in that it will start fine sometimes and then when it has been running for a while it will not restart when turned off.
I am looking to change the spark plugs and wires and wanted to see if you had some advice and instructions.
I am really happy I found this forum as there are NO rover mechanics nearby(Warner Robins, GA)that I know of and I also prefer to do my own maintenance if possible.
OReilly's sells a set for $29.00(US) but I thought I better spend and get the right parts.
I also read about the crank sensorcausing problemsbut am not sure how to trouble shoot that yet.

That is not being caused by your plugs/wires. How many miles on your truck?
You may need them and you sure don't want a $29 set of wires, 8 mm Magnecor's only.
Crank sensor is a better bet for your problem.
