Default Speaker noise in 03 Disc SE7

I just bought a 03 SE7 without the the Harmon Kardon system. The left, front speakers in the door, make noise. It sounds like a buzzing (verrry noticable), and is independent of the volume control or any of the radio buttons. As long as the radio is on te sound is there.

I swapped out speakers from the other side, its not the speakers.
I checked the wiring in the door and it looks to be ok.

How should i proceed? amp?

thanks!

Is it the speaker buzzing or something around it? Place your hand on the speaker grill and tell me if it goes away.

its the speaker bussing, I had the speaker out and listend to it, it is a sound being produced from the speaker. The top one in the door will get really hot if left on for about a half hour. the one under it makes most of the noise.

MA is too far for me.

Well since it most likely is not the speaker assuming there is no modification towards the existing wiring I would assume it either be the amp or the headunit. The best way to test the amp is take a look at the wire color combo on the side in question where it originally hooks up to the speaker with the buzzing sound. then look at the other side and just simply swap the wires around. If the buzzing sound is shifted towards the other side then you know it is not the wiring. Oh make sure all of your connections are not loose. In my professional opinion I would have to say there is something wrong with the amp or the built in crossover. If you are not too savy with electronics just pick up an amp on ebay and replace it (if you can find one). Or you can swap out the amp for an aftermarket unit.

Buy a jeep commander. this was supposted to post somewhere else, crazy, don't buy a commander, fix your radio and you'll be good.
