Default Speedometer Not Working

Okay I have recently got a 2001 Discovery II used for my Son. Had for several weeks now speedometer stop working. My question if any one can help.....does this vehicle have a Speed Sensor and where is it located?

The speed sensor is located in the transmission and appears to be by the valve body. Attached are a few documents from the rave manual.
