Default spike or mikes' cooling system bleed how-to sticky?

I cant find the sticky for how to PROPERLY vent/bleed my cooling system on my '00 DII.
I know it exists and I tried searching for it but no bueno...
will someone be kind enough to post the link for it please?

With the engine cold, you just unsnap the coolant reservoir and hold it at least 8 inches above the hoses that connect to the bleed screw. Then you remove the bleed screw and fill the reservoir with 50/50 mix of coolant/water(While still elevating the reservoir). Fill until you see a steady stream of coolant flowing from the bleed screw(This bleeds the air). Then replace the bleed screw, snap the reservoir back on and top off as needed.

Pretty much what I do, except I have never had to raise the coolant bottle, also, recheck the level, cold only over the next couple mornings before starting it up just to make sure you are not loosing any.

what about on a D1 where there is no bleed screw? I just have been curious about the proper procedure for this I know its not difficult

You bleed the D1's thru the plug on the top of the radiator. Only when cold and not running.

so you are saying just pull the rad plug and fill through expansion tank til it overflows from rad then just plug it back up?

Pretty much so, then check it in a couple of days, only when stone cold for an accurate reading.
