Sporadic Transmission noise

Sporadic Transmission noise
Does not happen all the time.
95 D1 Auto
Symptoms:
Whirring noise
Cold and hot conditions
Does increase with RPM's
I am only assuming this is transmission related. Wanted to tap into other Disco owners to find out for sure.
Any good flush advice on these. Like chemical additives when changing out the fluid/filter?

Easy Mike. I just bought it in January. Has 170k miles. Transmission
fluid level is right in line with where it should be. When I got it, the
level was a bit high but with the seepage in the lines between
the transmission and the cooler it is within spec.
I have not done any maintenance on the transmission or ujoints but am planning on taking care of that this weekend.
Since I bought it I have done the following as necessary repairs.
Replaced the left rear outer axle seal (old one completely gone)
and replaced the rear diff fluid with Lucas 80w90 gear oil.
Replaced the oil pressure sensor/switch as it was puking oil.
Changed the oil with synthetic oil and BG MOA to hopefully
begin cleaning up the internals. I intend to run a BG 109
to finish off cleaning up the inside of the engine. I change
my oil every 3k miles.
The transmission issue just started the past month. Otherwise
I have not done anything else (as a tech money has been sparce
but is starting to come in).
