SRS LIGHT
I purchased a 2000 Disco 2 in April of this year. When I looked at the truck the SRS light was on and the dealer had it fixed before I picked it up. The light will stay off for a couple of months but then comes back on. I have taken it back toa Land Rover dealer a couple of time in the past seven months but they tell me they can find nothing wrong with it and they clear the light but after a couple of month it comes back on.
They haven't been charging mebecause they repaired it originally butit's a hassle to keep taking it back. Any ideas on what it might be and how to fix it?
Thanks

Have them check the seatbelt pretensioners, the airbag sensors, everything.
If the light is on there is a fault, I wouldnt put up with it, make them fix it. They are just waiting for the warrenty on their work to run out then they will either charge you to fix it or tell you to go away.
MAKE THEM FIX IT!! Call your local Better Business Bureu, complain to the manager, MAKE THEM FIX IT!
Talk to a attorney, tell them that you are going to talk to the local news, make them fix it.
There is a fault when the light is on, when the light is on you have NO AIRBAGS!! YOU COULD DIE!
Did I say make them fix it?
When a dealer repairs something there is a 12 month 12,000 miles warrenty on THAT repair, even if your factory warrenty runs out that repair is still covered.
If they fixed it under good will so that you would buy the truck...tough luck for them.

Thanks guys for the opinions. I didn't buy the truck from the Land Rover dealer, the dealer I bought it from took it to them to have it fixed. They replaced the pretensioner and per their computer it is working fine. They say the computer says the problem is intermitten and once it faults the light goes on and stays on until it is reset.
I'm thinking about trying to find a way to unplug the light so I don't have to see it.

Well now its time for me to be a jerk...if you unplug the light and then your wife dies in a car accident because the airbag didnt go off dont come crying to me.
There is a fault, intermintent means that there is a fault, just not all the time. The time that there is one could be the time that it means life or death.
And remember that by law and by moral obligation you if you remove the bulb you MUST tell anybody who drives the truck that the airbags may not work. If you dont and they get hurt YOU are liable and could go to jail. If the person dies it is invouluntary manslaughter.
YOU knew there was a problem, YOU didnt fix it, YOU didnt tell them. Even if you did if they are dead how can you prove otherwise?
Get it fixed.

The pins for the pretensioner connector(yellow) under each seat can spread over time. Just to rule this out, take some dielectric grease and put it in the connector, make sure it is fully connected, have the fault cleared, and see if the fault leaves or comes back. A fellow tech at my shop had one like this about a week ago and the lighthas been ofsince.Don't give up on it.
