Moved to the correct forum, Discovery II will get you more answers than the "build thread section"

The red SRS light is for the airbags, I don't believe there is anything you can press to turn that on in the truck. If it is staying on you have a fault in the system.

Check the fuses for the radio issue simplest place to start.

SRS light is for Airbags AND seatbelt sensors. (And also for mommy mouse making a nest in the mess of wires under the center console, but that's another story)

Get the code read and find out exactly what's causing it. If it is left or right seat belt restraint, check your yellow connectors under the seat. Some have had luck cleaning these connections.

Cybercop is right, you do need to get the SRS code read. That's the only way you will know whether the problem is with the driver airbag, the passenger airbag or one of the two front seat belt pretensioners.

Most likely your best opportunity for that will be at an independent Land Rover shop. I spent a good deal of time April chasing the problem with mine. That venture is documented another thread on this forum. In my case the problem was traced to an electrical short in a connector. There was no problem with any of the major components of the system.

If you can live with the light on for a little while, and with the risk your restraint system will not function properly, and if you are somewhat technically inclined, the AutoCom/Delphi diagnostic scanner solution posted elsewhere on this forum by SuperSport will read the restraint system codes too. It would be much more of a hassle than just going to a shop, but for about the same money ($100) you'd have a very capable scanner that would give you the ability to be on top of the other problems that will more than likely crop up with your Rover over time.

Whoa, how have I missed seeing that scanner discussed? Do you have it drowssap? Can it also make changes to some of the BCU and other settings? Can it, for example, turn superlocking on and off or change the SLABS setting from air springs to coils?

no its not a Hawkeye or nanocom; but it will do more than most scanner as far as ABS and SRS codes. no need to look up codes gives you the problem in clear English. I think an ABS Amigo is some where around the same price just for ABS codes. the thing I like the best is it will do all land rovers 2000+up & Jags, unlike the hawkeye that I had to pay for each model
