Stalls, cranks but won't start, P0134, P0171, P0440, P1171, P1174
Hi all, first post here. I have a '99 D2 with 142k miles. Last night, my wife was driving it and it stalled out on her. She said it would crank but not catch. After about 20 min of waiting for the tow truck, it turned over and she drove a couple miles down the road and it happened again. Same thing, waited a while and it finally turned over. MIL has been on for a few months (I'm lazy) but I just pulled the following codes:
P0134 - Oxygen Sensor Circuit No Activity Detected Bank 1 Sensor 1
P0171 - Bank 1 System Too Lean
P0440 - Evaporative Emission System
P1171 - Manufacturer Controlled Fuel And Air Metering
P1174 - Manufacturer Controlled Fuel And Air Metering
Your input on where to start would be greatly appreciated!

98% sure you need a new crankshaft position sensor. About $90 and 2 hours. The sensor is super easy to change but the plug will give you fits. Some people cut out a hole in there fender liner, I got my wife and her tiny hands to help.
Edit.
The other codes may or may not be related to the Crankshaft sensor. I would replace the Sensor, clear the code, and deal with what ever codes come back. If all of those codes return then I would get 2 new front O2 sensors, Smoke check for and vacuum leak, and clean your MAF with a MAF specific cleaner.

LOL. I told you the sensor was easy, but the plug would give you fits.
How did you end up getting it plugged in?

Could you make a new thread and Title it "Cheaper Crank Position Sensor" or something to that effect and include a picture, web link, and part number so people can find this info easier when searching.
