Default Steering Damper...

Do the 96 Disco's have one? I looked underneath the front and did not see one.....

my 97 has one... it would be directly behind your front axle... looks like a shock absorber mounted horizontaly..

the D1 has one. It is the horizontal shock absorber behind the front axel. It is easy to replace, if you need to do it. I had a horribles shake over 60, but after I replaced the steering damper the problem went away.

What is the replacement instuctions? Does the truck have to be off the ground? Bilstein good?

Just take it off and install an OME steering stabilizer, they hold up better and usually cost less the the Bilstein.

the truck does not have to be off the ground... just lay under there and look... you will see it... and as for removal and replacement, take out the bolts holding it on, take it off, reverse the order and put the new one on... http://www.green-oval.com/joomla/ind...&Itemid=29 .. go to the site and download your applicable file, burn the file onto a cd, and you will have what is called the rave manual... tells you pretty much everything you need to know about any work you need to do to your rover...

I have a 95 and it is pretty easy to replace. so to answer your question they do have one
