Default Steering Damper Relocation kit...

Im looking to do this mod while I do my lift, what are my choices of kits? So far Im looking at the kit from Rover Tracks that uses a OME stabilizer and the Rockware kit that requires a D90 stabilizer. Which would be a better buy and why?

get the rovertracks kit. rovertracks uses a 1.25" dom tube while rockware just sleeves the original. the d2 style damper with loops at each end rovertracks uses has a larger range of movement over the defender style stud/loop.

What sort of wheeling are you planning on doing, how much lift are you looking at? Why do you even feel you need a relocate the stabilizer. I have run my 99 D2 for nearly 5 years with out ever hitting the stabilizer. I would suggest you just put that money into your lift.

on the d1 & rrc, the damper is much more prone to being hit since its behind the axle on the tie rod compared to the defender & d2 where it sits above the axle on the drag link

Just like llesra said, it is mounted low on the Disco 1's, Ive already scraped it up pretty good playing on some small rocks on the north shore. Lucky for me there is plenty of oil seeping all over my undercarriage so its not going to rust before I get a chance to fix the problem.
