Default ECU Relocation Kit

Curios why sell snorkels without a relocation kit for the ecu? They are almost at the same height in the engine compartment. After getting my ecu wet going through a large water hole I started looking around for a kit to move it to the glove box or somewhere safer but have found nothing, any ideas?

Its a valid point, but when "driving nomally" through deep water, the engine bay stays relativley dry because of the "bow wave" you should create + the ECU is pretty much a sealed unit, and "splashin" wont affect it, but water in your air intake is a big no no......

Obviously sat in 4 ft of water then thats a different story, even your snorkel joints will be tested to the max in that situation.

For me, the ECU is easily replacable, the engine (with bent rods etc due to hydraulicing) is def not.

Come to think of it, the V8 ECU is "inside" the car on the D2, so you have to be in a pretty sorry state to get that drowned, the TD5 ecu is in the engine bay in a more "vunerable" position....

D1 ECU in engine bay (cant remember) !!

Have had two d1's in the shop in the last month or so both with the same problems. The ecu's were getting wet from a hole rusted thru the inner fender directly under the ecu. When the ecu's were opened up the amount of oxidized aluminum was unreal!!I cleaned the ecu's and after testing them had both line-x ed on the outside. Working great so far!
