Default Steering Guard

in the process of purchasing a tactical rovers bumper and I was just wondering if anybody knows of steering guard that would be compatable with their bumper. their website says they are "under development" but I don't want to wait a year for it to come out.. any suggestions?

Just go with HD steering rods. Guards usually hang too low and good rods probably won't bend.

The Terrafirama guard should work for you. I know someone in the past used this with a Tactical bumper. I don't know if they had to trim anything on the guard. If you want to try it let me know.

Are you thinking of axel guards? The skid plate sits higher and protects the bottom of the Rad, Fan, belt, ext. As you can see from the picture the steering bar in the front is exposed. Obviously the one behind the axle is also exposed because there's no way a skid plate could reach it.

Well two things,
1. That guard isn't covering the whole drag link, you can see it exposed in the photo, and
2. There are plenty of guards I've seen that hang much below that, mainly the mantec

That was my point. The OP was asking about skid plates and reading your quote below it sounded like the steering guard would cover the steering bars. Thats all I was trying to point out.

I have installed a few Mantec skid plates and they also sit in about the same spot.

That's much below the Terrafirma setup, just looks higher because it's a factory bumper.

This pretty accurately describes how low it is, and this is on an ARB which are notorious plows themselves.

Heavy Duty steering rods and forget the steering skid.
Put the money you saved on a steering skid towards better winch.

Does is it cover the rear steering bar?

No

That is why is asked about your comment. The OP asked about a skid plate and you said get steering bars.

Sorry for helping.

I must have been reading something different, because it looked like he was trying to protect the steering rod in the front
