Default steering and steering wheel judders

Sometimes when I go over a bump, my steering and steering wheel judders quite disturbingly. Any ideas? It's been happening occasionally for a while but I've just lived with it but yesterday it did it so bad I had to pull over to the hard shoulder where it decreased and stopped.

leaking or empty steering shock or bad end bushings
worn pan hard bushings or loose nuts
and not normaly but radius arm bushings can cause this

Most common cause is a weak steering stabilizer. Old Man Emu makes a replacement that is well regarded by folks here.

Sounds like most of the bases are covered, let us know what you find.

When I bought the landrover, a few people pointed out that something was leaking on the axle and that it needs new seals but I forgot about it. Could that be the problem? What is it? All I recall was it was a bulge bit of the axle!

On a 94, yes, your swivel joints most likely need to be serviced, bearings repacked, seals replaced and make sure the proper preload is set.
