Default Steering Wheel Controls

The steering wheel controls on my 2004 discovery do not work, any ideals? Are they on a fuse. Thanks for the help, George

The ribbon breaking on the reel is a common failure; everything is on the ribbon or it would break from the fatigue of bending back and forth with the steering motion. The reel is supposed to allow for this motion by winding up and then unwinding, but it's built like many Land Rover parts, and it fails after a while. It's a wonder that Honda can make this kind of thing perfectly and owners never even know such parts exist. Land Rover is far more educational.
