still lost on this discovery engine issue

Interesting... I certainly haven't seen it all but I've never seen a coolant hose with the T and bleeder off over top the stat like that and i've not seen that big air (?) hose behind the throttle body like that.
huggi brings up an interesting point regarding temps. Can we assume you have the original stock thermostat even with that oddly located hose configuration?
Many people do report less ticking with a cooler running engine and it doesn't have to be the in-line mod, usually the TD5 OEM Grey 180 degree unit is sufficient.
Also, at some point you should swap out the dexcool for something green just for good measure.

When was your last head gasket job? That to me sound a stuck lifter. Video too short to tell but I had almost or close to same sound and gone after the head gasket job. I run mine for years with that sound, but unless you inspect the problem deeper, thats the only time you'll know.

The bleeder location in this video was a factory move I believe. I used to have the bleeder over top the rad, in that hose, but then they made a new T fitting and put it there.
If you still have the bleeder in the front hose, you need to swap it to the T fitting...
I agree swap out the dexcool.

I also have a 2003 and have the bleeder and the T in the hose on the shroud over the radiator. I've never seen the side mount one. Not that I've seen everything, and it looks like it should work fine. I got all new hoses when the HG's were done 3 or 4 years ago and the new one was same as the old one. Genuine LR parts. I've also not seen that big hose going behind the throttle body. I don't have that hose, or if I do, it's not that big.

OP, your coolant hoses are correct for the MY 2003; its all factory stuff
Dave035, you have the coolant hose for earlier MY D2 if the bleeder is just a screw located over center of the radiator shroud.
tube/hose behind the throttle is the idle air control valve IACV, also all factory parts. everything is legit on the truck in video, nothing to worry about.
