Default stock radio

my disco II had an aftermarket head unit i bought a stock unit to replace it pluged it in and no power to unit i have the security code to unlock it but its not getting power is there a trick to it

Check the fuse in the back of the OEM headunit.

did that i know it getting power when i turn the headlights on lights on the radio turn on but not the radio

Did you get the right radio?
For DII's there were three different radios.

it had all the right hook ups the year of the disco II is 1999

check your fuses... the illumination and power for the radio are seperate circuits

What speakers do you have?
If they are the Harman Kardon ones then that is the head unit that you need.
If not then you need any of the other two, Alpine or I think it is the Blaupunk that came in the G4 Edition.

I would have to agree with spike, there are 2 common types of european factory radios 1 type comes with a constant power and one that does not, if your factory radio that you bought needs a constant power and your truck does not provide it the radio will not work. I would suggest getting a meter for the truck harness and a diagram for the radios plugs, match them up and test the power wires.
