Stock springs/bilsteins or ??
Hi. This is for the 04 D2 w/109000 miles. The hub center to wheel arch distances are within stock spec still (19.7 ± .6 in. front and 19.0 ± .6 in. rear). This truck is never off road and I'd like to improve road handling if possible. Since the springs don't appear to have sagged, can I postpone replacing them especially since I do not want any lift on this one, and what shocks would be best?
Thanks
Thanks
If you are not wheeling a lot, sure, you can go shocks only, I would rather use the Old Man emu HD's then the Bilsteins, based on the good luck I have had with them.
For what it is worth, I have never seen a Disco go 100K plus and not have the coils settle, they have to be pretty weak by now.

I just replaced my shocks with Bilsteins, I do not have a lift and only occasionally offroad with it (usually fishing). I'd guess my springs are weak but did not replace them. I am giving Bilstein a shot because I've never tried them and if I read it right they have a lifetime guarantee (check their website). They really stiffened the ride and from what I can tell helped the handling aspects.

PS - on the front you'll have to remove the shocks to replace the springs (in case you only wanna do it once)
