Default Strange new quirk? Or funky safety feature?

While sitting in the rover today, 01 disco, engine running, driver door open i pressed the door unlock button to unlock the rear cargo door.
Hitting the unlock while the engine is running with the driver door open, reliably and repeatedly will kill the engine...
what the heck

That definitely does not happen in either of my '04 trucks.

This ones feels like its gonna be fun to chase down.

I think these trucks just like toying with us. Ha

I'll do a blind in truck fuse box swap this Am just with the hope that luck is on my side.

Aftermarket alarm or remote start you aren't aware of?

All the wiring in the truck is stock, been all through it and see no mods.

Just swapped to a spare fuse box. Issue still exists.

And for some reason my rear wiper wipes once when i start the truck lmao. Added more fun for myself

Good times.

@DodyDisco Mine does that if the rear window is wet when I put it in reverse (rear wiper)

I had a weird gremlin like this before with a faulty set of taillights. For me, my engine will stay running if I had the lights on and turned off the ignition (key fully pulled out too!). I could get the motor to turn off by turning the lights off after pulling the key out. The lights in my PRND would also turn off if I pressed the brake pedal and the brake lights wouldn't fully light up in all cases. I replaced my taillights with a known good set and the issue went away. Was a strange couple days of debugging to figure that one out!

Of course i roll the window down before screwing with these trucks.
new/old fuse box i tried .. window wouldnt go back up now,
and of course it starts raining.(auto rear wiper?) More to dig into.
Swapped todays original fuse box back in and can roll em up..small success.

Also found the rear wiper switch kills the truck aswell, soooo maybe i got a direction to start troubleshooting..Just not today.
