Stuck in open loop
No, not at all. Wires can be spliced back together just fine if that turns out to be the problem.
Did you ever check the O2 plugs for power and the fuses under the hood with a test light ? It takes all of 5minutes to do.
I would look very close at the 02 connectors to make sure they don't have any oil in them, the pins are not bent or loose, and the 2 plug ends are snapped all the way together.
i went over every fuse and the test light showed them to all be working. How can i tell if they are connected in all the way? i don't recall hearing them click in do they make a click noise when connected?
After going to swap them the connectors were not all the way plugged in my problem now is i can't get them to plug all the way in what do i need to do to get these to plug in do i just need to use a lot of brute force?
I am coming late to the thread but I have had similar problems. In my case the wiring harness was bad. I wouldn't suspect that unless you have removed it or been rough with it (I did both replacing my engine). I have also bought 4 new Bosch sensors before to have two of the bad right out of the box. Expensive.
If you have checked the wires and find nothing melted, then it is probably the connector. I've had that problem, too. The fix was to cut the wires and splice them then wrap in Silicon tape.
I hope your problem is so easy to fix.
The ECU is very durable. Unless you have had something odd happen of an electrical nature or your ECU box has gotten soaked, I wouldn't go to that cause at all.
Before cutting the wires you can use an ohm meter to check both sides of the connector. I don't recall the specifics of that but they are here somewhere (I followed them) .
Best,
Charlie V

Thank you but i think I've found the problem which is them not being plugged in *facepalm* but i can't get them to plug in all the way!
