Default Stupid question about electrical connectors

I realized today while struggling with the electrical connector on my MAF sensor that I probably don't know the right way to "unhook" electrical connectors. Is it just me, or are they always incredibly hard to remove? I've also had difficulty with the blower motor.

Specifically, for the MAF connector, do you squeeze the two sides to get it to unhook? Is there a tool specifically made for this purpose?

Thanks!

Most connectors are stubborn for a reason. They have a rubber insulator seated between the connection to help keep moisture and elements out. It's not just you they can be tricky especially if they have been sitting undisturbed for a number of years all while exposed to the radiant heat of the engine.

Most have two prongs you squeeze together to release on either side.

Thanks Coors -- after taking a "patience" break, I went at it again (carefully) with a pair of channel locks... that did the trick!

Job done!
