Sunroof Switches
The sunroof switchs are not lit because at night you should not take your eyes that far off the road.
For the best night vision possible your eyes should always be level with the road and the brightness of your dash lights set as dim as you can.
As for the turn/wiper stalks and cruise control switches...memorize them. I mean they are like right there.
If you cant work your wiper/turn/cruise without taking your eyes off the road then let me know when you are in my neighborhood so I can stay home.
Same thing with your gear shifter. The position of the gearsw does not change, they are in the same order all the time and for every car since the 1960's.

I'd like to know what car you've ever driven that had the steering column stalks lit. I can't think of any that I've ever had. I personally don't have any problem with my c/c, radio controls not being lit as I have them memorized by now.

In regards to using the sunroofs, I do not have them on the SD but I do on the 2001 and 2004, nevertheless, I do not use them.
Last time I opened a sunroof on a DI, it came off the track and broke the plastic attachments. It was a hassle to close it back up. I am assuming the DII has the same mechanism as the DI.
