Ok make sure everything is on track.
Make sure rails are greased and has no hang ups
Check for proper voltage.
There are parts trucks in TX for Pete's sake find one on maybe craigs list and go there explain your problem and see if they will let you try a sunroof motor out. You can unplug yours, plug there's in and try it out. It is alot of work to get out head liner out maybe be easier to order one from a parts guy to try out (i have one) if this works. Time for you to dismantle your roof and replace your motor. May be a time to fix that saggy head liner anyway.

His motor works one way. The motor should be fine reversing.
My money's on the sunroof ECU. You will have to remove the front map pockets/console and partially drop the headliner to get to the ECU to repair/replace it. The repair is an easy job if you're comfortable with a soldering iron.
