Indeed. We have a 2001 here with 20's. She is going to run the truck into the ground, from what I've seen under the hood. I have also seen some kind of mid 80's Buick Regal or something with, I swear to God, 26" wheels or something insane. That car has twice the ground clearance of my Landy!

Default Down but not out.

I have a 01 that currently is D-E-D dead. slipped a cylinder sleeve and has been out of commission for about three weeks. I bought mine from a dealer that was trying to sell it on the side for his brother and picked it up for a measley 4k (what the brother had left on the loan) and 95k miles ish on it. I bought it in Feb 07, and in the Utah snow, I loved the traction and safety. In the summer I was always mobbing around the mountains finding all the puddles and hills I could get the tires to touch. It did overheat once and has been nothing but problems since. Being mechanically inclined, I did all the work myself and have always been able to get her back on her feet. long story short, The fun I've had has far surpassed the trouble its been repairing it, and the cost is outweighed by the fact that I have been able to teach my son how to be mechanically self-sufficient. beside that, I enjoy getting my hands dirty, and solving problems. Had I no knowledge of how to fix these problems and had to rely on a dealership for the repairs, I would not still own my disco and already pawned it off to some other wide eyed naive kid lookin for a 4x4 rig.

Bought mine November of 06 with 68K. Thus far only new tires and the prop shaft as well as oil changes and WAY too much premium. Happy owner, but I will change a lot in the near future/ as I find the parts. Anyone have a lead on a 1980-82 Range Rover automatic?
