Default Suspension Advice

Hi everyone

about 6 months ago I put a leveling kit from ARB on the front so my 04 DII would sit a little more level. I tow a small motorcycle trailer and gear about twice a month and the back end of the truck is really lazy on the road. The tongue weight of the trailer is about 75ILBS and my gear probably weighs around 200LBS. Im looking for some advice on supporting the rear suspension. Springs, Bags, etc. I plan on doing the shocks with whatever upgrade I go with. Oh yeah I have the SE so the self leveling package is not there

why not look into changing over to a heavy duty coil suspension from Old Man Emu. Call justin at lucky 8. he should be able to set you straight.

I like tat idea but I'm not sure about the permanent ride change. Most of the time it will just be me in the car and I'm not sure if the ride will be too stiff. Any thoughts?

My ride quality has improved since my lift and new tires. I don't think it will ever ride like a Cadillac but it's not that big of a deal to me. Plus your land rover will look much more aggressive. How it should have came from the factory, instead of looking like a big golf cart.

That's good the hear. I kinda didn't want to add on an air system then have issues with the bags or compressor. What coils did you go with for your lift. How much did it end up raising your ride height?

So what exactly did you install in the front of your truck and be specific, that will give us a better idea of what to recommend for the rear.
By the way, how many miles on your truck?

I went with the 2 inch medium kit/shocks and springs from Terrafirma. Overall I'd say I got a 3 inch lift because at the time my stock suspension was starting to sag.

i agree i would put a new lift in it, either OME or Terrafirma, try Justin at Lucky 8 and if you want some more get the +2" lift and you can get it in an HD but then you have to get the sway bars out otherwise you will break your teeth when you have no weight in or on the truck

Well originally I went over to a 4 Wheel Parts store and asked if they had any kits available that would level out the Disco because I didn't like the slightly lower front end look. To the best of my knowledge I bought just a 2" lift spring for the front. Now the car sits level and I like its appearance but as soon as you hook a trailer up to it down it goes. It probably would look level if I didn't raise the front a bit oh well lesson learned on that one. Along with the coil came a set of Nitro shocks from OME. Thats really all I know Disco Mike.

I really like that set up looks good. What size tires are you running and do they rub at all?
