Well the engine on my 01 disco grenaded and is written off, sucks. I am now searching for new vehicle, loved rover as no rust with aluminum panels and tough as nails. I will not buy another Land Rover no matter how bad I want to as the engines just suck, trucks are amazing though. Anybody have any advice on a rover like suv that will not rust out, has a reliable/powerful engine and can seat 7? I am at a lose, been looking for 3 days and nothing has caught my eye. Please chime in, any suggestions appreciated.

 

I had a Jeep Cherokee ZJ for a few years. It had 1/4 million miles on it and was still very strong. Sold that for the Disco. Inline 6 is the only decent motor.

Not sure it has 7 seats. But I loved at thing.

 

I'll second that one. Definitely don't come with 7 seats, but the 4.0 that jeep had is an awesome motor. I had an 2005 Rubicon that I punished severely and it kept on ticking. A lot of my friends have the cherokee's. Then can be had pretty cheap and run forever.

 

I am honestly pissed that the disco was such an amazing vehicle but the engines were so messed. I was looking at the 4runner but for the year with 7 seats it is too expensive. I think the jeeps rust pretty bad here in Canada, just hoping somebody knows of a truck based suv with aluminum fenders etc. and a powerful engine.
