Did this all happen at once or has it been building up over time.
Cleaning the MAF usually only works at best for a short while at best. If the MAF is bad, t will lower your power, cause shifting problems in 3rd or 4th gear and cause the exhaust to smell.
Before you do anything, go get someone else to read the codes again and get the fault numbers, lets make sure he even knows what he is talking about. Get back to us with that info and don't try cleaning the MAF to all other things are ruled out cause once you start messing with it, there is no turning back and at $600 or so, you don't want to be the cause.

Hi

I decided to clean it with the brake cleaner and it got rid of the bad exhaust smell, the engine still sound the same but this time the engine shakes when i give it some gas and when at idle, so could that mean that the engine is missfiring again?, i replaced my spark plug about 6 months ago.

Thx

Brake cleaner will kill the MAF, shop around for a good used one with a guarante, try

Or you can buy a new one for $600 plus.
For others reading this, it is really hard to clean failing MAF and if you try use electrical contact clean not carb or brake cleaner.

If your Disco has more than 75K miles chances are you have a stuck exhaust valve. Check the codes and do some research and you'll more than likely find this to be the case. It's usually the #8 valve.
