Default swivel pin ?s

this weekend ,as soon as my wife leaves for the big all day shopping spree, I plan on installing my new springs and shocks (f & r). while I have the front end apart somewhat I was thinking of checking/adjusting the swivel pin "preload " the manual seems to spell it out pretty simple.....but as we know they sometimes oversimplify things, so I was wondering if any of you have dove into this before, and had any issues. thanks for your comments.

If your preload is too light you can adjust it by removing shims, but the long term better solution is a rebuild kit. Nothing really to do with springs and shocks, the only step ahead you'll be is having the wheels off, which isn't a big deal.

THANKS, I think I'll pull the pins just to see what shape things might be in, I have my "Zebco De-liar " spring scale ready and tuned up.
