Default Tail Door Speaker Wires - Positive Negative

I just received two new speakers for the tail door of my rover. The old ones Im replacing do not have any positive or negative marking on them and the new ones do. Ive searched this forum up and down but can't see to find any info related to which is positive or negative. Most of the diagrams show which colors are pairs but don't have indication of +/- designation.

I saw some posts saying that the positive or negative orientation doesn't matter but wanted to make sure before soldering these up.

Any feedback or replies to this would be greatly appreciated.

You can use a small battery to tap and test the old speakers. You are looking for the cone to move upward. Then make note of the + and - on the battery.
From there you can figure out which wires in the connnector were + and - to power the speaker.

Thanks for the reply JUKE!

Unfortunately for me the previous owner did a number on the wiring so Im not trusting the previous configuration as they never worked.

Ive had to work my way all the way back to the tail door connector. Now trying to go from there forward.

Good luck. The PO of my Disco 2 had a spider's nest of wires (2 meters worth!) behind the aftermarket radio that I had to sort out.
