Angry TC Banjo breather bolt, 03 Disco

Can anybody help me with my breather line on the transfer case? Is it accessible without removing the TC? I had a gusher of a leak spring up overnight on the input seal after some major repairs (head gaskets, new timing cover) and I suspect my breather is plugged. Any input? I already tried the white shepherd and fresh oil, to no avail. Also, is the breather line fitted with a filter can close to the hood on the firewall? I know this is a barage of questions, but I find it hard believe that a leak this bad could be a failing seal. Thanks!

The breather tube is a black plastic line about 1/4" outside diameter that comes up the firewall just behind the right cylinder head. It has a hook at the end of it. No filter.

From messing with my breather tubes this weekend and rerouting some of them, I wanted to make sure the transmission and transfer case tubes were still attached. I could feel and barely see the transmission banjo bolt, and only feel the transfer case banjo bolt. You might be able to access it by removing the center console and tranasfer case shifter and going at it from above.

Are you sure it is transfer case fluid? After filling it to the proper level, and it leaking, the level has gone down on the filler bolt? That is odd, as I wouldn't think a clogged breather would cause a gusher of a leak.

Ok, I'll try to get at it from the top. I can't find the gd tc breather tube that you described anywhere!! But I will remove the console and give your method a try. Thanks a hell of a lot!!

Oh, and yes, I'm sure it's tc fluid. The leak was bit dark before. I changed the fluid and the drained stuff was dark. I changed the fluid with syntec 75w-90 and now the leak is almost clear. Thanks again!

Confirmed. I knew I had seen a picture of the top of the transfer case through the opening for the shifter. It was in Urban Panzer's CDL walkthrough which I had printed out when I did mine. http://www.discovery2.co.uk/diff_lock.html Upper right picture. There's your breather tube and banjo bolt.
