hi all. some advise needed.

TD5 D2 engine starts everytime within half a turn - runs strong and pulls well. Then it feel like water in diesel slight jerk which goes away at high revs. But just sometimes as I go around a corner and accelerate, it jerks badly at around 2000rpm. The jerking normally goes away, but then sometimes end up in engine light on and M&S. Engine continues to idle, but no power to wheels.
Swithing off and on 9/10 resets the fault and engine goes again. This cut out happens mostly in town driving. On open road some jerking would occur but without cut out.
Yes oil in ECY red plug - dried it out but no real difference in symptoms.
Have not checked the CPS.
Have not checked diagnostics- don't have access to instrument.
Replaced the diesel filter with LR genuine part.

any ideas ?
