Default Td5 intercooler upgrade

Hi everyone

Can I get some feedback on intercoolers. SAC and many more reckon my disco II td5 auto with aircon can take the upgraded larger ICooler. Please verify this, and if true explain to me how and where they fit it. I just cannot see any space for it. First you have the AC, then oil cooler, then intercooler above auto cooler and finally your radiator. I only have an extra 25mm to play with core thickness and nothing downwards.

Enlighten me please, cause I cannot justify spending 12k in the first place when I can get a performance intercooler from the speed freaks down the road for around 2k.

Thanks

You can fit a larger intercoolers into the TD5. Its normally in conjunction with a stage 2 remap of the ECU as well. If you just want a bit more power / drivability, you can just go for a stage 1 ECUremap which will typically give 25% more power and "usually" an increase in fuel economy as well. No real point in a larger intercooler if you dont remap the ECU

What country are you in ?
