Temps and 180 t stat

I see the same temps with genuine 180 stat. Ironically, I drive the same route at 188F in the summer but 194F in the winter, even at -15F. The only thing I can think of, is in the summer I have the AC on (with it's fan) and that cools me back to 188F, while the engine normally wants to hang around 194.

I do see temps above 200F when it's triple digits outside and I'm in 4-low going up hill. One particularly hot summer day, it was around 210 or so when we stopped, so I opened the hood.

Even then, the aux fan didn't kick on (which would do that even when stopped on mildly warm days). That was how I determined my stock 190F stat was plugged. Bought the ultraguage and discovered my "middle temp guage" readings were actually 215-220!!!!

Never again! 180-stat and Ultraguage should be mandatory mods, right next to the serviceable front shaft, IMO.
I have a new fan clutch, but probably will wait to install it as most here are reading the same temps as me.
