Terrafirma Suspension Help Please

Default Terrafirma Suspension Help Please

Ok, I purchased the Terrafirma Skeletal Shock mounts and I purchased the Terrafirma Medium Shock & Coil Kit. I had it all installed with a front 1” level kit (and new rubber damper boots)

They said (when I went to pick it up) that it appears to be slightly higher in front. They said it may settle in after driving some.

I informed them that it’s like Jeep Wranglers that they slope slightly until they are “leveled” as I’ve owned Jeeps before but not a Disco 2.

I guess I did not read correctly as the Terrafirma Medium Load Kit supposedly gives a 2” Lift from what I have read now ??

I have not measured, but it looks level, but is still on the 225/55/18 tires. Tires and my extra 16” wheels I have are coming next.

So my question is does the Terrafirma Medium Load Kit (Coils & Springs) really give a 2” lift as it appears it does ??

Next, how screwed am I with the 1” level kit in front with all this or is it truly level now??

Also, should I just get new tires on my 18” wheels or should I get them in my extra 16” set? If so, what size should I run now for A/T as I was going to run 245/75/16 or 255/70/16?

Suggestions? Greatly appreciate your help in advance.

I can't comment about the suspension, but I recommend going with 245/75R16 tires. You have a lot more choice with tires. I have a set of Cooper Discoverer AT3 on mine. Spare tire just barely scrapes the rear bumper. You'll have more tire sidewall compared to an 18" wheel.

The hood should be level or slope slightly down, it will settle but not that much. My terrafirma springs started to sag 2 years in, in the back, I just added a 1 inch spacer to beef it up. OME next time for me.
The fronts are dead simple to do I would pull the spacer, unless you are adding a heavy bumper or winch in which case leave it.

The 245/75/16 work really well on the, no rubbing issues that I am aware of.

Put some good MT on your 16" wheels for off-road fun and AT on your 18" wheels for your everyday driving.

As for the spacer....you probably want them in the rear because it tends to sag when its loaded with gear.

so now I have to pay someone to remove front spacer after having it installed?

or should I leave for now and then have it moved to rear when it starts to sag?

How simple to remove front spacer?

don’t I have to remove coils ??

Those are the tires I was going with.

You don't have to remove coils to remove a spacer. Compress the coil by jacking up, use a spring clamp to keep it compressed, then lower the axle so that the spacer can be pulled out. You'll have to unbolt the bottom end of the shock.
