Thank you, and three questions
First, thanks to all who helped out with intermittent start problem ( disco mike especially) was crank sensor and repaired..
Now opinions please...
Time for new shoes.....
My family and I travel about 5 hours each way to our place in the country . We drive from the suburbs of Long Island through NYC to upstate NY in the mountains. There is my wife and out two boys as well as our two dogs( a yellow lab and a black German sheppard) .. Our 04 disco is pretty full.. We off road with truck on LI at our local beaches, as well as in the woods , upstate.. Including, mud, rocks, grass, hills..etcetera..
I was wanting to increase tire size about an inch or so, question is
Should I go with coil spacers? New coils? Do I need new shocks? If I went with the "terrafirma +2") do I need new shocks and will I need a drop pitman arm?
Finally, what's a good size tire? And Any suggestions ?
I have had BFG all terrains, as well as General Hrabber at 2s which I loved ( and couldn't beat the price) I like the aggressive look and performance but don't want to hear them screaming on hiway.... Thoughts please. Thank you

My disco is stock but I can tell you based on the many many posts I've read here that people who get 2in lifts do no other changes other than new shocks and coils. Definitely get new of both if you're changing especially if you're shock. If you get heavier springs but leave your old worn shocks on you'll probably top out as the shocks aren't designed for that extra travel. Spacers are like a poor mans lift, if you're going to do it, do it right.
As far as tire size I cant comment but search around there are tons of posts on whats a good size for your needs.
If you have the money to throw at it get yourself a second set of 16in rims (there are some steel ones that look nice and are cheap) and put your "aggressive tires" on them and swap on the occasions you are going to do something off-roadesq. This is especially nice if you only off-road on small occasions which it sounds like. If you have 18s now a set of 16s almost pay for themselves in the long run anyways since its easier (and cheaper) to find the tire you want in that size.
