Default Thatcham time for replacing timing belt

Timing belt failed when on the M5.
Eventually got towed to a garage and before I decide whether to let them repair it or get it back home,
I would like to know the Thatcham time for the repair so I get an idea of the likely cost.
Also is it a 'safe' engine or will the pistons have hit the valves?
Any help for this newbie would be appreciated.

Man I dont know if it is a interference engine or not.
We dont have any diesels here in the US so I can t help you on the "hours billed" time to have it done.
They will have to reset the valve timing and maybe injector timing too so that will add time to the over all job.
