I replaced the rear brake lights nes on a buddies d2 and need to bleed the system. I’ve read you need a nanocom or something similar to bleed the Waco unit but was wondering if there’s another way? Hit wire the harness off the battery on a momentary switch or something? Also does anyone know the size of the bleeder screws so I can pick one up without removing one as I’ve already manually bled the brakes which still feel spongy.

Take out relay R10 and momentarily jump it with a jumper wire across the #3 & #5 relay sockets.

The write up I saw had a long lead with a switch, then when he was at the bleeder he’d hit the switch and let it go to town. Flip the switch & move to another wheel.

After reading this I had a perfect aux switch mounted inside a durable black box with like a 15ft lead on it. I put two blade connectors on it, and I had a customers D2 I just replaced a MC on to give it a shot (I bled the MC at the Wabco Unit first), then I went from the back and started bleeding. Loosen the bleeder, hit the switch and let it run until the fluid was clear, tighten the bleeder, and flip the switch to stop the ABS Pump. Do the same procedure at the remaining wheels while making sure the MC was topped off. Once done replace the relay and fuse box cover and you’re done.

I’m going to carry this with me from now on in my LR D2 kit in case I ever have an issue out on the trail or road.

I even did it on my 99 D2 just for kicks and it worked great.

I made up a switch harness a few nights ago and bled the brakes, it worked great. Thanks for the tip
