Default THERMOSTAT

Does anyone know where I can get a t-stat gasket without having to pay for shipping?

Autozone says N/A, maybe NAPA? It's late Sat. and NAPA is closed till Mon.

The dealer isn't too high. I got my T-stat and gasket there because the genuine t-stat has a bleed hole in it.

I highly doubt you will find a parts store that will have one on hand. If you have a local L/R dealer, it's possible they might have one,our local dealer didn't.
I changed mine last week. I just cleaned the existing gasket, scrapped off the rubber coating, then applied RTV. No leaks. Otherwise, get some rubberized gasket material in a roll and you can make one really easily. Trace around a cup or glass and cut out.

Yeah, I would stick with the dealer stat too. The one I got from Autozone wasn't the same temp range ...and cost about the same. It did have a bleed hole, but it was a hair smaller. But if you need one right away, the autozone unitshould work fine.

Hi,

At autozone did you ask for a disco thermostat or some other car that fits. I tried pepboys, carquest, napa, advantage, and autozone: all said they didn't even have it listed in the system.
BTW, I have a 94 disco.

I used RTV sealant when I replaced the t-stat hoses and coolant 2 months ago but it has now sprung a small leak in the past week.
Have not had to add coolant but there is a quarter sized puddle on top of he engine.
