Default Thermostat and coolant

Hi all - I have a 99 Disco II with about 120K miles. Recently, I've been losing coolant to the tune of about 1/2 gallon every two weeks. I cannot find a leak anywhere and the only pooling under the Disco is A/C condensation. To the best of my knowledge the thermostat hasn't been replaced and I'm wondering if its causing the truck to use more coolant? Is that possible???

If so, can someone help me to locate where the thermostat is. CHeap part around $10.00 bucks so I'll change it out myself if I can locate it. Any and all help appreciated - Barry

Barry,
Thermostat not likely to cause a loss. Double check for leaks. Try pressure testing the system.

thermostat probably not the problem. have the system pressure checked. have them use the dye and it will lead to the leak. that will help identify the problem. let us know what you find, maybe we can help more from there. the parts question. There is a list of suppliers on the forum. do a search, or check the faq section. hope it helps gotta love a rover. duboff
