Thermostat gasket on low temp
So me being a complete idiot ( I know I get no argument on that lol) bought a cool temp tstat weeks ago and decided to put it on quick. Here my dumb a** had put on one when I did me heads. Look at the rubber gasket inside the side valve on the old and new. It had come lose inside the old one in only 6k miles. Is this normal? Im thinking that may have saved me some troubles. Anyone see this before?

Nope not really normal per say but it happens from time to time it points more towards a defective product than anything. Sometimes the robot that puts these together get a little tipsey before work and does not get them on correctly before they are sealed and then the other robot that us supposed to check for defects needed a nap and opps a bad one slips threw.

Right on brother! I have a t-stat that is new ish like yours that has turned sideways inside the housing. We put it in and maybe after 2k the truck would not get up to operating temp sure enough it was a faulty t-stat ( motorad 180/439) really nuts but stranger things have happened. Just glad i caught it before something bad happened and i am glad you caught yours.
