Default Which thermostat to get?

Hi all,

I got around to getting all the dexcool out of the my disco. Ive been chasing a couple water leaks and figured I'd replace the motorad tstat currently in there. I think it was leaking and the hose that connects to the the heater core at the top of the engine. Whats a good tstat to replace the motorad one? I saw this one on ebay:

A genuine OEM 180 stat from Lucky8. It's the grey one. You might want to replace your hoses too. The one in your pic doesn't look so good.

You can get two 180F’s from Lucky8 if I’m not mistaken. OEM grey 180F & the black 180F by britpart. I’ve used several of the britpart units with great success.

I'm going for the black britpart one on the next change. 1/3 the price, and slightly colder opening temp. I've had a brand new OEM grey be stuck, and heard of a few others.

Thanks all for the suggestions - purchased the 180 britpart one from lucky8 mainly because of price. I might need to replace the o-ring on that manifold outlet pipe too. I've been finding that anywhere I see crystalized dexcool there probably is a leak.

I did the inline mod. Run a 180 in warm weather and a 195 in cold. Works great.

I don't think discos were ever potty trained...they kinda make a mess.
